HAIKU
Day twinkle
bowl of memories
beside a boy
Rusty walls
Grey blocks gone with time
Boy lives life
Hands hold head
in soulful moment
as boy smiles.
CARNIVAL
Hosanna bells rumble through the sky
in a desperate call to the many eyes of passersby
a boy holds the bridle, leading the way
a festival rends the sky and mouths wander
beauty marches majesty, history marches stories
though horses are too vain for safety, yet a
carnival gathers eyes into attention because
feet only wouldn’t march this procession
horses would do, and ten thousand marches
across the twists of twitching streets
morph sights into memories
as horses hoof the earth into a tear.
VOYAGE
We know life like a slant
a few steps and bends
back and forth, to and fro
soft smiles and thuds
rides you like a storm
we are all moving things
in jolly and rolly polly through life’s
phases, leisurely or swiftly
in dread and guts
half-heartedness and gusto
we bump into many unknown
yet, on the road, by the day
we know life, more, by the day.
