The Lagos International Poetry festival, LIPFest is here again! Last time out, poets from all over the world convened in Lagos to bring the best of poetry ranging from readings to performances and music as well as loads of entertainment engineered solely for the lifting of souls.

The Bridge of Words featured performances from poetry ambassadors and living legends. The guest list was tailored to make those who missed it regret it. With names like Romeo Oriogun, Koleka Putuma, Chris Abani, Dami Ajayi, Dike Chukwumerije, Melizarani T. Selva, Sophia Walker and many others not insignificant to mention rather numerous to name.

This year the theme is WIDE AWAKE. This theme is of great importance as the world has moved into a phase where truth, unapologetic truths, is the order of the day and it is important to stay awake or get left behind. Yes, it is the era of Woke and Wokeness.

Be ready to see how this theme is translated by various artistes through their words, their performances and their songs. It is a great opportunity to meet your favorite writers and connect.

Starting a day earlier than last year, the festival begins on October 31 and ends on November 4. Venue for the events is Freedom Park, Old Prison Ground, Broad Street, Lagos Island, Lagos.
